2008 cabernet sauvignon - napa valley - howell mountain
this is a big and bold cabernet that just might live up to the label, a captivating painting by california / austrian artist amanda sage. the deep dark napa fruit core gives way to complex and ample tannins that should allow this wine to gain further character over the next several years.

very even ripening led to whole cluster fermentation for a portion of this terrific fruit. aged in french oak, 25% new, for 18 months gave the wine a hint of sweet spice without covering the peppery and smoky fruit. 2007 - cabernet sauvignon - napa valley - howell mountain
for 2007 we sourced from the same vineyard we used in our 2006 cabernet sauvignon but this fruit came from further up the mountain so now we claim the howell mountain designation. a big, complex mountain cab for sure, and a fitting wine to launch our artist label series.

2008 chardonnay - mendocino - alder springs vineyard

2007 chardonnay - mendocino - alder springs vineyard
for our first white wine we chose to work with alder springs vineyard: a consistent producer of great chardonnay grapes. fermented and aged in French oak, this crisp wine shows bright, pure fruit balanced out with minerality and just a kiss of creaminess. think honeycrisp apples with subtle hints of pineapple and acacia. terrific with fried calamari or anything alfredo.

2007 pinot noir - russian river valley - bohemian vineyard
we were excited to add this small family-owned vineyard to our collection for 2007. the russian river valley gets enough bright sunshine to bring pinot noir to its full ripening potential - the twist with bohemian vineyard is that it sits on the western edge of the russian river AVA where the coastal pacific ocean chill contrasts sharply with the warm days.
"Full bodied and persistent with lots of spice and sage..." - Wine Spectator
