scott collier – founder & winemaker.  someone has to be sure grapes get paid for, winemaking decisions get made in time and the words on the labels are spelled right.  scott does this stuff although when it is a choice between wine quality and label spelling you can count on the wine being the priority.

david philo – winemaking associate.  dave has wide-ranging experience making handcrafted wines (see him in action at Lynmar some time), so he makes sure our winemaking techniques will keep our grapes pointed toward the style of wine we are shooting for.  from early morning vineyard runs to late night shifts on the sorting line, dave is up for it.

julie lin – wine specialist.  as a hard-core foodie and top sommelier (she's the wine director at the las vegas Mandarin Oriental ), julie provides guidance on wine style and grape sources.  julie is a real wine pro (with the csw credentials to prove it) and she makes sure we keep our sights set on only amazing wine.

kala philo – media mentor.  she can usually be found with her video cam tucked under one arm and mac under the other, but kala does take  time off from video production to help rockroom with marketing efforts (as well as the occasional punchdown).

friends of rockroom

these busy winemaking pros have full time jobs that really keep them running, but they have been generous mentors, advisors and supporters…

al01e

adam lee – winemaker, siduri & novy family wines.  wine experts agree – adam and dianna lee have made siduri one of the top pinot noir wineries in the country while novy cranks out amazing syrah, zin and other varietals. less well known is how many aspiring winemakers they have helped along the way.

kian tavakoli – winemaker, crushpad inc.  with years spent making wine at places like clos du val and opus one, kian really knows how to coax grapes to give up the good stuff – especially the bordeaux varietals.  without his patient advice and hands-on help we would more than once have been up the proverbial creek…

ryan zepaltas – winemaker, zepaltas wines.  these days ryan is working long days as assistant winemaker at siduri then nights and weekends launching his own label.  we appreciate him sharing his thoughts on how to make premium small-lot wines.  check out zepaltas wines   - it's killer stuff!

 z

mike zitzlaff – chief winemaker, crushpad.  with 20+ years of winemaking leadership that has led to international awards ranging from best red of show in his native australia, best cabernet honors in napa and a best pinot noir award in london, we simply could not make such good wines without z's counsel.
